Our aim is to bring glory to Jesus Christ by providing top quality medical equipment and by sending ministry teams to clinics and hospitals around the world. See what trips are available!
Refurbishing hospital equipment has been part of who we are from our beginnings. See how we can partner with you to enhance your ministry.
ChosenIMA began in 1969 (known at that time as CHOSEN) when Richard Love traveled to a hospital with Volunteers In Mission. While in Korea, Dick's eyes were opened to the desperate circumstances under which medical missionaries labor. As an employee of AMSCO, a major manufacturer of operating room and sterilization equipment, he began exploring possibilities to remedy those deplorable conditions. Seeing equipment trade-ins and items rendered obsolete at his employer would be priceless in Christian Mission Hospitals; through his effort started 50 years ago ChosenIMA has shipped equipment to Christian health care facilities in 110 nations to present.
In the past, ChosenIMA has worked to advance Christian Health Care in economically deprived countries. ChosenIMA has shipped millions of dollars’ worth of new and remanufactured medical equipment to medical mission facilities. Additionally, volunteers and staff have traveled the world installing and repairing equipment, developing and teaching training programs in equipment operation and maintenance procedures, and providing instruction in operating room procedures, infection control and sterilization in hospital environments. Truck drivers, plumbers, electronic technicians, nurses, engineers, salesmen, doctors, housewives, and many others have joined ranks over the years to support the front line Christian missionaries bringing the Gospel to the hurting and the lost. Organizations soliciting for mission hospitals are usually unaware of the need for equipment to be refurbished before being shipped. If equipment in poor condition goes to the field, the result is a great deal of discouragement and expense for Medical Missionary Hospitals. On the other hand, equipment from ChosenIMA is thoroughly tested and, if required, is reconditioned and restored to working order with all accessories included. Also, every effort is made to simplify and update manuals for each piece of equipment. This ensures effective stewardship of God's resources. Further promoting good stewardship, ChosenIMA's staff is leading efforts to ensure quality standards are developed and adhered to by all medical supplies and support groups they partner with. ChosenIMA has built a reputation of providing high quality equipment to medical facilities around the world, and we remain committed to living up to our reputation. You may have noticed that our name has changed. We now do business as Chosen International Medical Assistance, (or ChosenlMA), we have begun coordinating short term medical/non-medical mission trips. Our goal will be to send teams to places that have received our equipment, and seek out ways to make an even bigger impact for God’s Kingdom. Beyond that, we will prayerfully seek the Lord's guidance, and trust Him in travelling through the doors that He opens. We invite you to join us on this journey!
2020 has been a year of many changes and challenges! Even in the face of these hardships, God has continued to grow and expand this ministry. Though the short-term mission trips we offer to Mexico have been temporarily postponed, our local ministries have flourished. Our durable home medical equipment outreach continues to grow. We also work alongside Ramps of Hope to install and maintain temporary ramps for folks needing the ability to get in and out of their home. New partnerships have formed which have fostered more community support and engagement. Lastly, we are continuing to fill the large-scale medical equipment needs of numerous overseas ministries.
A Message From Our Executive Director, Rick King
Luke 9:6 – “So they set out and went from village to village, proclaiming the good news and healing people everywhere.” Chosen International Medical Assistance desires to be used by God to reach the lost and hurting people in the world. To do this, we must go “village to village” around the world and proclaim the good news of the Gospel. We desire to provide quality health care through first-rate equipment and the loving touch of medical doctors and nurses while bringing glory to the God we serve.
