Local Ministries

Meeting the needs of our neighbors...

In the last year, Chosen distributed over 3,000 home health care items to members of our local community. That is over 9 items given out each day our doors were open!  It is people like you who allow us to continue to serve the community.  You can help by donating gently used home health care items when you are finished with them and by letting others know about this need. Please note, we are unable to take medications, food or liquids of any kinds, or anything expired.  You may drop items off to our office at 3638 West 26th Street, Erie, PA - Monday - Thursday 9AM - 3PM and Friday 9AM - 2PM.  If you would like to make a financial donation to help us support this ministry, that would be appreciated as well!  Thank you!

Now Accepting Diabetes Supplies

At the end of 2016, the Erie County Diabetes Association closed its doors.  ChosenIMA is working towards filling  a small part of the void left by the closing.  We are now accepting dontations of diabetic items including meters, test strips, lancets, and syringes.  Please note, all supplies must be unexpired and in their original packaging.  Monetary donations will also be accepted.

Home Health Care

ChosenIMA serves as a distribution center for home health care items in the Erie, PA region.  We receive gently used equipment and new supply items such as wheelchairs, walkers, transfer benches, shower chairs, bed canes and unexpired diabetic supplies.  These items are available to our neighbors at no cost.  (Donations to the ministry are accepted.) On average, over 195 items are distributed each month.  However, due to lack of supplies, 30-35 requests go unfilled per month.  If you are in need of durable medical equipment or supplies, call us to check on availability.  And, if you know of anyone or an organization that might be able to donate some durable home health care items, direct them to ChosenIMA. This will help us better serve our community!

Soles Helping Souls

ChosenIMA Needs Your Shoes!  All types of gently used shoes are accepted.

  1. The shoes will be used to create and sustain micro-enterprise opportunities for low income entrepreneurs in developing nations
  2. The shoes will stay out of landfills
  3. ChosenIMA earns money for each pair of shoes collected, which is used to help fund our local ministry

Individuals can drop off shoes at 3638 West 26th Street during normal business hours.  We are also looking for schools, churches and businesses who would be interested in partnering with ChosenIMA on a shoe drive.  We will provide you with all of the information and materials you will need.  This could be a great service project for a school club or a youth group.  Contact Kristen for more information.
